Your College Football Home Base Near Inglewood
Saturdays in the fall have a rhythm, and it starts early on the West Coast. When the East Coast window kicks at 9 AM our time, our doors are already open. Melody Bar & Grill sits on S. Sepulveda Blvd in Westchester, closer to LAX than any other bar and restaurant and about ten minutes west of Inglewood. That puts us in reach of fans from Inglewood, Playa del Rey, El Segundo, Hawthorne and Culver City, flight crews on a layover, and travelers with a long connection who would rather watch the game than sit at a gate.
We run football all day. USC and UCLA are the house teams, but we pull in the Big Ten, the SEC, the rivalry weekend slate and every round of the College Football Playoff. Big screens run through the bar and out onto the patio, so you get the game whether you want air conditioning or afternoon sun with planes overhead. Tell the bartender which game you want with sound and we will make it happen.
No cover, ever. Full bar, full kitchen, and a lineup of daily specials that lands on whatever day your team plays. And when the last whistle blows, the night keeps going, because we have live music, karaoke, comedy and DJs on the calendar all week long.

Where can I watch college football near Inglewood?
Melody Bar & Grill at 9132 S. Sepulveda Blvd in Westchester is about ten minutes west of Inglewood and SoFi Stadium, and the closest bar and restaurant to LAX. We show college football on big screen TVs inside the bar and on our outdoor patio all season, with no cover charge.
What time do you open on Saturdays during football season?
We open at 9 AM every day, including Saturdays. That covers the first Pacific kickoff window, so you can walk in with the ball already in the air rather than waiting on a locked door.
Do you show both USC and UCLA games?
Yes. Trojans and Bruins fans both have a home here. Use the filter tabs on the schedule above to see USC games, UCLA games, or the full slate. Rivalry weekend, when the two meet, is one of the biggest days on our calendar.
Is there a cover charge to watch the game?
No. There is never a cover charge for football at Melody, on any Saturday, including playoff games and the national championship.
Can you put my game on with sound?
Ask the bartender when you sit down. We run multiple screens and do our best to get every table the game they came for. Sound generally goes to the biggest game in the room, but we are happy to work with you, especially if you get in early.
Do I need a reservation for a big game?
We do not take online reservations, so seating is first come, first served. For rivalry games, playoff rounds and the national championship, come early. If you are bringing a large group, call us at (310) 670-1994 and we will do what we can.
Do you serve brunch during morning kickoffs?
Yes. Weekend brunch runs 9 AM to 1 PM Saturday and Sunday, which lines up with the early and midday windows. You can see the full brunch menu here.
What are your happy hour times?
Happy hour runs 3 to 6 PM every single day, with $8 well drinks and $1 off all draft beers. That lands right in the middle of the afternoon football window. Full happy hour details here.
Is there outdoor seating to watch the game?
We have an outdoor patio with TVs and a view of planes coming into LAX. It is a popular spot for the afternoon slate when the weather is good.
Can I watch during a layover at LAX?
Plenty of people do. We are the nearest bar and restaurant to the airport, so a rideshare from the terminals takes only a few minutes each way. If you have a three hour connection or a delayed flight, you can catch most of a game and still make it back with time to spare.
Do you show the College Football Playoff and the New Year’s Six bowls?
Yes. We carry the full playoff run: selection day, the first round, all four quarterfinals including the Rose Bowl right up the road in Pasadena, both semifinals, and the national championship. Use the Playoff & Bowls tab on the schedule above.
Can I order food to go on game day?
Yes. You can order Melody on DoorDash for delivery or pickup if you are watching from home or your hotel near LAX.
